Deuterium Shine-Through Lamps
Deuterium lamps provide a continuous and line free UV spectrum from 180 nm to 360 nm. For applications in the wavelength range up to 800 nm, the deuterium lamp is often combined with an additional light source, for example a tungsten halogen lamp. The additional lamp delivers the high intensity required in the visible part of the spectrum.
The shine-through lamp offers an easy solution for the combination of two lamps. This deuterium lamp allows the coupling of the light of an additional light source into the UV radiation along the optical axis of the deuterium lamp.
The visible light is projected through the casing and the aperture of the deuterium lamp and together with the UV radiation provides a continuous spectrum from the ultraviolet up to the infrared wavelength range.
The installation of moveable parts like reflectors or light sources can be avoided. Therefore the shine-through lamp offers higher reliability and lower cost.
